Originally built in the 16th-century as offices for Florence’s magistrates, the galleries now house an extraordinary collection of Renaissance masterpieces, including works by Botticelli, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. Another suggestion is to visit Palazzo Pitti, the grand Renaissance palace that once served as the residence of the powerful Medici family. Today, it is home to several impressive museums and galleries, and its beautifully landscaped Boboli Gardens offer wonderful views over Florence and a peaceful place to wander.

In the early evening, we enjoy a gourmet dinner with the tour group and attend a performance by The King’s School in a venue such as the Church of San Filippo Neri. Following our guided tour, we have a free afternoon. Wandering the narrow, picturesque streets of Venice, browsing through the attractive shops, stopping for a coffee or a gelato, photographing, or just enjoying the classic glimpses of canals, narrow streets and small squares and the Venetian life contained in them, can be a totally fulfilling activity without any need for a specific destination. However, if you would like a specific destination, you could visit the wonderful Peggy Guggenheim Collection, a modern art museum on the Grand Canal, one of the most visited attractions in Venice. Housed in an 18th-century palace, the collection includes works of prominent Italian futurists and American modernists working in such genres as cubism, surrealism and abstract expressionism. The gallery is a 20-minute walk from our hotel.

This evening we join The King’s School’s Italian Tour to attend a performance at a venue such as Teatro La Fenice or Teatro Malibran.

This evening, we have dinner with fellow tour members before attending the final performance by The King’s School at a venue such as Santa Maria della Pietà.
